#OspolyDecides2026: Team Revolution Rejects Allegations Against OGM, Calls Claims ‘False and Unsubstantiated

The campaign team of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, Students’ Union Government presidential aspirant, Ogunmodede Oluwatobiloba Olanrewaju, popularly known as OGM, has rejected allegations circulating against the candidate ahead of Saturday’s SUG election.

The response followed a petition dated September 17 and addressed to the Dean of Students’ Affairs, the SUG Electoral Committee and the Chief Security Officer of the Polytechnic, in which a group identifying itself as concerned students called for an investigation and character verification of OGM.

In a memorandum dated September 18 and signed by Ilori Stephen Damilola, popularly known as Analog, Director-General of Team Revolution, the campaign team described the allegations as “false and unsubstantiated.”

The team also alleged that some individuals it identified as supporters of the opposition had been moving from house to house and circulating claims that OGM was involved in phone theft.

Team Revolution urged students to distinguish between allegations and established facts, saying anyone with evidence should submit it to the appropriate school authorities or electoral body for investigation.

The campaign team further condemned what it described as the use of unverified allegations to attack candidates during the electoral process.

According to the team, the SUG contest should focus on “ideas, policies, character, competence, and issues affecting students,” rather than rumours and personal attacks.

Opposition group challenges denial

In a separate response signed by a group identifying itself as “Concerned Students for Integrity,” the group criticised the Team Revolution memorandum, arguing that it did not directly address the specific questions surrounding the allegations.

The group questioned whether there had been any previous dispute involving a missing phone and challenged OGM to personally address the allegations and provide clarification.

It also questioned why the campaign's Director-General had issued the response rather than the presidential candidate himself.

The group maintained that its position was not an attack on OGM but a demand for accountability from a candidate seeking to lead the student union.


Allegations remain unverified

The competing statements come as OSPOLY students prepare to vote in the SUG election scheduled for Saturday, September 19. The election is expected to hold online through the student portal between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., according to information attributed to the Independent Students Electoral Commission.

The Creativity Site has not independently verified the allegations contained in the petition or the subsequent claims made by the campaign groups.

The petition itself does not constitute a finding of guilt, while Team Revolution's denial does not, on its own, establish whether the underlying allegations are true or false.

OGM has not been quoted personally in the statements reviewed for this report. The Creativity Site will publish any substantive response from OGM, the electoral authorities, school management or other relevant parties as it becomes available.

With voting less than 24 hours away, the allegations and competing responses have added another issue for students to consider as the presidential contest enters its final stage.
