The Independent Students Electoral Commission (ISEC) of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, has declared Ogunmodede Oluwatobiloba Olanrewaju, popularly known as OGM, winner of the institution’s 2026/2027 Students’ Union Government (SUG) presidential election.

OGM polled 1,237 votes to emerge as President-elect following the conclusion of the online voting exercise on Saturday, September 19.

The declaration was made at the Election Situation Room after the close of voting, bringing to an end hours of online voting and monitoring of the electoral process.

Other candidates declared winners in the various positions are:

Vice President: Micheal Fabule — 1,122 votes

General Secretary: Dolapo Dolapo Boladale — 1,058 votes

Treasurer: Maleek Aminu — 871 votes

Welfare Officer: Grace Adebayo — 872 votes

Public Relations Officer: Taofeek Adejare — 836 votes

Sports Director: Paul Fajimolu — 970 votes

Assistant General Secretary: Aliyah Abioye — 772 votes

Social Director: Daniel Akinsuyi — 795 votes

Financial Secretary: Emmanuel Ajayi — 754 votes

Auditor: Abosede Oladapo — 771 votes

The election was conducted online through the Polytechnic’s student portal, with accreditation and voting scheduled to commence at 8:00 a.m. and close at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. ISEC had earlier urged eligible students to participate in the exercise.

The voting process was, however, accompanied by complaints from some students over difficulties accessing the portal. Some students reported receiving restriction or error messages while attempting to vote. ISEC officials subsequently attributed reported glitches to traffic on the portal and assured eligible voters that they would be able to cast their ballots.
