As students of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, prepare to elect their next Students’ Union Government leadership on Saturday, September 19, 2026, the two leading presidential camps have continued to receive endorsements from student associations and individual student leaders.

The presidential contest is between Ogunmodede Oluwatobiloba Olanrewaju (OGM) of Team Revolution and Oyediran Abdullateef Olawale (Muslat) of the Phoenix Movement.

The latest endorsements came less than 24 hours before the election, with student groups and leaders declaring support for candidates and, in some cases, specific aspirants contesting other SUG positions.

The Independent Student Electoral Commission (ISEC) had announced that the election would hold online on Saturday, with accreditation and voting scheduled to commence at 8:00 a.m. and close at 3:00 p.m.



NAFSTS endorses OGM, Team Revolution

The National Association of Food Science and Technology Students (NAFSTS), OSPOLY Chapter, formally endorsed OGM and the entire Team Revolution on September 18.

In its statement, the association said the endorsement followed its consideration of the need for purposeful representation, inclusive leadership, effective student administration and a progressive Students’ Union Government.

NAFSTS also listed the Team Revolution candidates for the various SUG positions, including Fabule Micheal Abiola (Fabulous) for Vice President, Boladale Dolapo John (DPO) for General Secretary, Abioye Aliyah Abimbola (Bimbzy) for Assistant General Secretary and Adejare Taofeek Olawunmi (TAO) for Public Relations Officer.

The association encouraged students to examine the candidates and their programmes before exercising their franchise.


FASSA declares support for Team Revolution

The Faculty of Science Students Association (FASSA) also endorsed Team Revolution in a memorandum dated September 18.

Signed by the association's President, Comr. Adeyemo Micheal Olorunjedalo (Mr. Stat), and General Secretary, Comr. Ojobaro Faruq Olatomiwa, the statement described Team Revolution, led by OGM, as representing its stated values of responsible leadership, unity, accountability and effective representation.

FASSA urged eligible students to participate in the election while calling for a peaceful and respectful electoral process.

Other student leaders back OGM's team

Team Revolution has also received individual declarations of support from student leaders.

Comrade Oduntan Samuel Boluwatife, identified as Mr. FICT and NAOSS Sports Director, Iree Chapter, declared support for Team Revolution, citing his assessment of the team's stated commitment to student welfare, unity, accountability and representation.

Similarly, Hon. Com. Omosanya Damilola (JOSBRIGHT), President of the Faculty of ICT, announced his personal support for Team Revolution and specifically identified with the candidacies of Boladale Dolapo John (DPO) for General Secretary and Fajimolu Paul Ayodeji (FAJ) for Sports Director.

The Computer Science community, through its NACOS executives, also issued a declaration of support for Team Revolution.


Muslat receives fresh endorsements

While Team Revolution has secured endorsements from associations and individual student leaders, Muslat's Phoenix Movement has also received fresh backing ahead of Saturday's poll.

Comrade Adeyemi Oluwatobiloba Isreal (Immaculate), identified as Director of Ethics and Disciplinary Affairs, NANS Southwest Zone D, declared his support for Muslat's presidential bid.

Adeyemi cited Muslat's leadership qualities, commitment to student welfare, integrity and accountability as reasons for his support.

Olajumoke Agbaje (Atupaemi) also declared support for Muslat, highlighting what she described as his leadership experience and the Phoenix Movement's stated focus on student welfare, academic advocacy, transparency and inclusive governance.

Another declaration came from Comrade Iyiola Israel Oladele (D.Pastorate), identified as Special Adviser on Student Empowerment and Innovation to the Zonal Coordinator, NAPS Southwest Zone.

Oladele said he had considered the two leading presidential aspirants before declaring his endorsement for the Phoenix Movement.

NAMACOS stakeholder backs Muslat

Adding to the list of individual endorsements for Muslat, Comrade Omotosho Ismail Temitope, popularly known as Popular, identified himself as the NAMACOS Stakeholder Chairman, and declared his personal support for Muslat.

Temitope said his decision was based on his personal conviction in Muslat's leadership, commitment to public service and what he described as dedication to the interests and development of students.

He wished Muslat success in his political journey.


FAJ gets separate endorsement

The contest for other SUG positions has also continued to attract individual endorsements.

Hon. Comr. Odetara Kehinde Moses (OPA), President of NAPOTEMS, declared his personal support for Fajimolu Paul Ayodeji (FAJ) in his bid for SUG Sports Director.

Moses said his support was based on FAJ's commitment to student participation, sports development, teamwork and the interests of OSPOLITES.


OSPOLITES head to the polls

The latest endorsements come as the election enters its final hours, with both presidential camps seeking support ahead of Saturday's online poll.

ISEC's September 16 memorandum stated that accreditation and voting would take place from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on September 19, with no votes to be cast after the stipulated closing time.

With Team Revolution and the Phoenix Movement receiving endorsements from different student leaders and associations, attention now shifts to the electorate as OSPOLITES prepare to decide the next SUG leadership.
