#OspolyDecides2026: “No Student Will Feel Left Behind” — Value Unveils ‘Inclusive Parliament’ as SUG Senate President

Oludayo Oluwapelumi Ayobamidele, popularly known as Value, the newly elected Senate President of the Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, has said he will establish what he describes as an “Inclusive Parliament”, with a focus on ensuring that every student feels represented.

Value, an HND 1 Civil Engineering student, stated this in an exclusive post-election interview with The Creativity Site following the conclusion of the 2026 OSPOLY SUG election.

Reflecting on his earlier statement that “representation doesn't end when we win elections; that is when it begins,” the newly elected Senate President said his responsibility now was to move from campaign commitments to practical representation.

“In practical terms, it means the real representation starts now. It is time to bring the real student Parliament to work and I named it INCLUSIVE PARLIAMENT where no student will feel left behind,” he said.

Value said he intends to address areas including student welfare, communication and academic advocacy by working within the SUG constitution and setting up committees to handle the different areas.

He said the committees would also work with the S.U.E. as part of the Senate's approach to addressing issues affecting students.

“By working according to constitution and composing effective committee to be in charge of every of the mentioned area and working with the S.U.E,” Value said.

On the relationship between the SUG Senate and the newly elected executive, Value said his administration would cooperate with the executive while ensuring that the activities of the union remain aligned with its constitution.

"We are Inclusive Parliament, the Executive are the face of the SUG bodies and we will ensure proper cooperation and make sure things are aligned with the constitution of the SUG. The SUG President remains the head of the Congress,” he said.

He also said the process for receiving, debating and following up on students’ concerns would be guided by the provisions of the SUG constitution.

“The process will align with the constitution,” Value said.

While he did not provide details of a separate feedback platform or specific timeline for implementing the process, he said the ultimate measure of his tenure would be whether students consider themselves genuinely represented.

“At the end of the tenure I want every Ospolite should say I am truly represented,” he said.
