Fabule Micheal Abiola, popularly known as Fabulous, the newly elected Vice President of the Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, has promised to make communication, student feedback and welfare key priorities of his tenure.

Fabulous, an ND1 Business Administration student, stated this in an exclusive post-election interview with The Creativity Site following the conclusion of the 2026 OSPOLY SUG election.

The newly elected SUG Vice President said he intends to establish a structured communication system connecting students, the SUG and school management, with faculty, departmental and class representatives helping to gather and communicate students’ concerns.

“I intend to establish a proper communication system between students, SUG, and management. I will work with faculty and departmental representatives to gather students' concerns and ensure those concerns are properly communicated to the appropriate authorities,” he said.

Fabulous said the system would also help students receive verified information through official communication channels, adding that his goal was to ensure that no student felt ignored or left out.

On his previous proposal to strengthen communication through faculty, departmental and class representatives, he said he would organise regular meetings with the representatives to collect complaints, suggestions and feedback from students.

According to him, representatives would report issues from their respective faculties, departments and classes, while the concerns would be documented and prioritised based on urgency.

“I will also follow up on the issues so that the representatives are not just passing information but actively helping to find solutions,” he said.

Working With OGM

Fabulous also spoke about his expected working relationship with the newly elected SUG President, OGM, saying he sees leadership as teamwork rather than competition.

“First, I believe leadership is about teamwork and service, not competition. I intend to work closely with President OGM by supporting the administration's goals and contributing my ideas where necessary,” he said.

He, however, said working with the President would not prevent him from taking responsibility for the duties attached to the Vice President's office.

“At the same time, I will take full responsibility for the duties assigned to my office as Vice President. I believe in mutual respect, transparency, and accountability,” Fabulous added.

Welfare Among Priorities

On student welfare, the newly elected official identified access to important information, academic challenges and concerns affecting students’ daily campus experience as areas he intends to focus on.

He said his approach would begin with engaging students and representatives to identify the most pressing welfare concerns before working with the SUG President and relevant authorities to seek practical solutions.

“I cannot promise to solve every problem immediately, but I can promise to listen, follow up, and communicate progress honestly,” he said.

Fabulous also outlined what students should expect from his office within the first 100 days, saying he plans to establish an organised feedback and communication system through which students can submit complaints and receive updates on the progress of their concerns.

He said representatives would help document issues raised by students, while his office would provide regular reports on steps taken.

“If I fail to deliver on a stated commitment, students have the right to ask questions, and I will be willing to explain what happened, the challenges involved, and the next steps,” he said.

What Comes First?

On when students should expect the first practical steps, Fabulous said his initial move would be to meet with President OGM, relevant representatives and students to discuss how the proposed communication and feedback system would operate.

He said he intended to begin organising the channels for receiving students’ concerns and sharing verified information within the first few weeks of taking office, while noting that the exact timeline would depend on coordination with the administration and representatives.

“I believe a good leader should not only talk about goals but also begin working towards them,” Fabulous said.
