#OspolyDecides2026: Fabulous Pledges Stronger Communication, Welfare Focus as SUG Vice Presidential Candidate

Fabule Micheal Abiola, popularly known as Fabulous, has pledged to strengthen communication between students, the Students’ Union Government (SUG) and the school management if elected Vice President of the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree (OSPOLY) SUG.

Abiola made the pledge in an exclusive interview with The Creativity Site during its #MeetTheContestants Election Interview Series ahead of the 2026 OSPOLY SUG election, saying students deserve leaders who are approachable, attentive to their concerns and ready to represent them responsibly.

According to him, one of the major challenges facing students is the communication gap between the student body, the SUG and the institution’s management.

He said delays in passing information to students could create confusion and make them feel excluded from issues affecting them.

To address this, Abiola said he would advocate for stronger communication through reliable official channels, faculty representatives, departmental representatives and class representatives if elected.

He also promised to encourage students to communicate their concerns to the SUG and ensure such issues are properly presented and followed up.

Abiola said his approach to the Vice Presidential position would be based on teamwork, stressing that the office should complement the President rather than compete with it.

“As Vice President, I understand that my role is to support and complement the President, not compete with the President,” he said.

He added that he would work with the President and other executives by contributing ideas, assisting with the implementation of programmes and taking responsibility for duties assigned to him.

Beyond working with the executive, Abiola said he would remain connected to students and ensure their interests are represented within the administration.

He identified a student communication and feedback system, alongside students’ welfare and engagement, as his key areas of focus.

Explaining why students should support his candidacy, Abiola said he was seeking the office with a willingness to serve rather than make unrealistic promises.

“I am not coming with promises that I cannot fulfil,” he said, adding that his commitment would focus on effective communication, student representation, teamwork, accountability and welfare.

Abiola said his decision to contest was driven by his desire to contribute positively to the lives of OSPOLY students, whom he believes deserve leadership that listens and represents them responsibly.
