Adeleke Wins Osun Governorship Election With 511,067 Votes, APC’s Oyebamiji Gets 444,815

Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party has won the 2026 Osun State governorship election after securing a total of 511,067 votes across the 30 local government areas of the state.


His closest challenger, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, polled 444,815 votes, while the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate recorded 17,180 votes.


The figures followed the collation and declaration of results from all 30 local government areas by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Adeleke won in 19 local government areas, while Oyebamiji secured 11 LGAs, according to the results published from the collation exercise.


The result gives Adeleke a margin of 66,252 votes over Oyebamiji.


The ADC's 17,180 votes placed the party a distant third in the contest.


The results showed a closely fought contest in several parts of the state, with both major candidates recording victories across different local government areas. Adeleke secured strong figures in areas including Ede North, Ede South, Osogbo and Ife East, while Oyebamiji won several LGAs, including Irewole, Ilesa East, Boripe and Olorunda.

With results from all 30 LGAs now accounted for, the final outcome puts Adeleke ahead of Oyebamiji by more than 66,000 votes.
