The Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Media, Ossai Ovie Success, has offered ₦500,000 in cash support, an all-expenses-paid trip to Asaba and an ambassadorial role to the young UBA graduate trainee who recently became the subject of widespread online attention after an exchange with UBA Chairman Tony Elumelu.
Ossai made the offer in a Facebook post on Friday, saying the gesture was aimed at supporting the young woman following the intense backlash generated by the incident.
Under the proposed package, the young woman would receive ₦500,000 cash support, flight tickets to Asaba, five-star hotel accommodation and a guided tour of developmental projects in Delta State.
She would also receive VIP access to the fourth edition of the Delta Social Media Summit, scheduled for Thursday, August 27, 2026, at the Mariam Babangida Leisure Park, opposite Dennis Osadebay University, Asaba.
Ossai further offered her a brand ambassador role for the Delta Social Media Summit, an annual platform focused on social media and digital engagement.
Explaining the motivation behind the offer, the Delta government media aide acknowledged that the young woman had made a mistake but urged Nigerians to stop subjecting her to continued online attacks.
"I know the internet can be harsh. Depression is real and words cut deep,” Ossai wrote, adding that the young woman needed support rather than continued torment.
He also commended Tony Elumelu for what he described as pointing out a needed correction that could strengthen respect in society.
Ossai appealed to members of the public who know the young woman to ask her to contact him directly.
“I will give her a good time and a platform to tell her story,” he said.
He concluded the message with a call for the controversy to be transformed into an opportunity for the young woman.
“Let’s turn this pain into purpose. She won’t be disappointed,” he wrote.
The offer comes as the incident involving the UBA graduate trainee continues to generate debate online, with reactions focusing on workplace etiquette, respect, generational differences and the culture of addressing senior officials by their first names.
Ossai, who serves as Senior Special Assistant on Media to Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, is also the convener of the Delta Social Media Summit. The summit has previously focused on equipping young people with digital and social-media skills.
