The competition was organized into four houses—Greatness House (Yellow), Dominion House (Blue), Emerald House (Green), and Flourish House (Pink)—each contributing to the colourful and competitive atmosphere witnessed throughout the day.
At the end of the contests, Owu Community Comprehensive High School clinched victory in the male category, while Premier Comprehensive College emerged winners in the female category for the secondary school division.
Some of the winning athletes described their triumph as a product of determination, teamwork, and preparation.
“It feels great to win and represent our school,” one of the athletes said, adding that confidence grew during the race as the team maintained a strong pace.
They noted that training played a key role in their performance, while also dedicating their victory to their coaches, supporters, and teammates. According to them, the experience reinforced lessons in discipline, focus, and perseverance.
However, the competition was not without incident.

Tnsion briefly escalated during the male relay race involving Owu Community Comprehensive High School and Premier Comprehensive College following a disagreement over the final result.
Premier Comprehensive College reportedly contested the outcome, alleging that the decision was based on claims that they crossed their lane. The referee, however, upheld the result, maintaining that Premier had committed the violation despite earlier warnings issued to all participants.
The disagreement led to a brief confrontation at the venue before officials and organizers intervened to restore calm.
Despite the incident, the final standings remained unchanged, with Owu Community Comprehensive High School confirmed as winners and Premier Comprehensive College taking second position.

Addressing the disagreement between both teams, the proprietor described it as part of competitive sports.
“What happened is what is called the spirit of sportsmanship. Everyone wants to win,” he said.
He added that while some students may feel discouraged by the outcome, such experiences remain important.
“Life is about winning and losing. You must also be prepared for failure because it can become a stepping stone,” he said.
He further expressed optimism that future editions of the event would be bigger and better.

Some spectators described the event as both entertaining and insightful.
“I feel happy because it made me understand what competition truly is—a winner today may not be a winner tomorrow,” said Julius Samuel.
Another spectator, Oladehinde Dolapo, attributed the success of the winning teams to courage, though he noted that the most striking moment of the event was the argument that erupted during the relay race.
Despite the brief disruption, the interhouse sports achieved its broader aim of bringing students together through competition, teamwork, and shared experience.
For many participants and observers, the event served as a reminder that beyond medals and rankings, sports remain a platform for learning resilience, discipline, and unity.
