The event, which forms part of activities to formally establish and strengthen the club, featured the induction of new members, installation of executives, and a fundraising drive aimed at supporting community-based projects in line with the club’s objectives.

Speaking on the significance of the event, the Charter President of the club, Sunday Adebayo, explained that the ceremony was necessary to officially position the club within the structure of Lions International.

According to him, “It’s about meeting Leo officials as the Lions International calendar is coming to an end, while also making our charter presentation official and recognized in the proper way.”

He added that the fundraising segment of the programme yielded over one million naira, which, he said, would be channeled into community development projects.

Deivering a keynote address, Babatunde Sorinolu Gabriel stressed that leadership must be rooted in positive impact and service to humanity.

He noted that true leadership is not defined by wealth but by the willingness to solve problems, even in small ways.

“Leadership begins with impact, and that impact must be positive. You don’t have to be rich before you start solving people’s problems,” he said.

He further urged members to remain steadfast despite criticism, describing service as a strength rather than a weakness.

“When you are serving, it is not a sign of weakness but a sign of strength. A good leader must be responsible and lead by example,” he added.

Also speaking, Ogunnaike Abiodun Ifeoluwa, Immediate Past President of Ewekoro Pacesetters Lions Club and Zone 7C Chairperson, emphasized the importance of Lions’ support for Leo activities.

“As Lions, we have a rich history of community service and leadership. Supporting Leo Club activities allows us to pass on our experience and values to the next generation,” he said.

He added that mentoring young Leos plays a critical role in shaping future leaders and addressing community challenges.

“By guiding and supporting them, we empower Leos to develop projects that address pressing community needs. It’s a win-win for everyone involved,” he noted.

Newly installed Media, Publicity and Marketing Director, Otolorun Nasirudeen Kehinde, highlighted the importance of media in organizational growth.
