"We are the church not building or instruments"-Bro. Williams O.V

  By Victor Olubiye

Bro.Williams Oluwasegun Victor, the Student Pastor of C.A.C Oke Anu Iree, Osun State, declared this today, 23rd of February, 2025 during the sermon session in the church auditorium.

He began by educating the congregation of the origin of church, which he said is from the Greek word "ekklesia" which means "gathering of people or coming together of people".

According to him, Church refers to "assembly" or "gathering". In Christianity context, church refers to the gathering of the believers or the body of Christ, which is to worship God.

He continued his speech by proclaiming that "Church is not the instruments (chairs, drumsets, tambourine and the likes) but the members that are in the building".

He stressed further that the church needs the gifts & fruits of the spirits to equip it, which are prophecy, healing, teaching, love, meekness e.t.c. All members must try to have all these equipment so as to beautify thier gathering "Church".

He expatiate that, the church is a community of people who are committed to following Jesus Christ and living out their faith in love and service to others.

The Pastor round off his sermon by telling the congregation that the church is called to govern and dominate and they must know their identity in Christ.
